December 18th will sure be remembered in the history of Indian cinema as two big budget movies Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale released across the world. Both the films occupied 70% of the theatres during the last 10 days which is huge.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali preferred the life story of warrior king Peshwa Bajirao and the movie has been titled as Bajirao Mastani. Ranveer Singh played the lead role as King Bajirao in the film and Deepika Padukone played Mastani in Bajirao Mastani. Priyanka Chopra played Kashibhai in the flick which opened with decent collections. The movie received huge competition from Dilwale which had a huge impact on Bajirao Mastani’s collections.
The flick collects Rs 46.77 crores in its opening weekend and the movie maintained the stability on weekdays. Bhansali's film collected Rs 86 crores in its first week which has been decent. The movie has been made on a massive budget of Rs 210 crores and This flick has been stable even in its second week. The movie collected Rs 34.30 crores in its second weekend making the total Rs 120.45 crores.
Sharukh Khan is back with his latest outing Dilwale and the film has been directed by Rohit Shetty. Sharukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon are the lead actors in this romantic entertainer. The trailers and the video songs created enough buzz on the film. Dilwale opened with a bang and it minted Rs 21 crores on its first day.
Dilwale managed to collect Rs 102 crores in its first week which has been stupendous. It collected Rs 21.23 crores in its second weekend and the total collection of the movie reached Rs 123.88 crores. SRK produced the movie on Red Chillies Entertainments banner.
SRK’s Dilwale dipped by 67% when compared to its first weekend and Bajirao Mastani dipped by 26% in its second weekend.
