Bollywood has always planned the release dates of their films even before the movie starts rolling. Top filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced that his latest outing Bajirao Mastani will hit the screens on December 18th an year ago when he was busy with the pre-production work. Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra played the lead roles in the movie which is said to be the life story of King Bajirao and the movie has been made on a budget of Rs 250 crores which is huge for an Indian film.
Then came Sharukh Khan with his movie Dilwale which has been finalized this year and director Rohit Shetty planned the shoot of the movie in such a way that they wanted to hit the screens during Christmas. Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon played the other lead roles in this romantic drama which is gearing up for release on December 18th on the same day Bajirao Mastani is releasing. Sharukh Khan produced Dilwale on Red Chillies Entertaiments.
The interesting thing here is no such big clash happened in Bollywood in the recent times after the business has widely expanded. As the films have been getting wide releases and the makers reaching the profit zone in the first week of the theatrical run, big films need not clash at the box-office on the same day revealed many trade analysts. Even after several attempts of discussions, the makers of Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale are not interested to compromise with their release dates. With two big films aiming the same release date, both the movies will sure not get a wide release which will affect the opening figures of both the movies.
Both the filmmakers are now busy promoting their movies and the film lovers are now left confused about the film that they should watch on the released day.
