Talented director Anurag Kashyap started his career as a writer and he ended up as one of the leading directors in Bollywood. He has now become a brand and he has been producing movies on his banner Phantom Films.
He preferred dark comedies and thrillers other than commercial formatted films mostly but all his movies ended up as huge blockbusters. The most important thing is that all the movies have been made on minimal budget and they ended up as huge winners when we talk about commercial aspects.
For the first time in his career, Anurag Kashyap came up wth a big ticket film in his career titled Bombay Velvet. Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma played the lead roles in the movie which has been based on the deadly killer Charles Shobraj.
The movie ended up as the biggest debacle in 2015 leaving everyone in surprise. Bombay Velvet released between huge expectations and the movie could not impress the audience because of the predictable and outdated plot. Anurag Kashyap’s Phantom Films along with Fox Star Studios produced the movie.
The latest news we hear is that Anurag Kashyap along with his working partners of Phantom decided to return the complete investment of Bombay Velvet to Fox Star Studios. Anurag Kashyap, Madhu Manthena, Vikramaditya Motwane and Vikas Bahl are the partners of Phantom Films.
They are about to start with an amount of Rs 10 crores and the producers will return Rs 90 crores in steps by the end of 2016. This is sure a huge move by Anurag Kashyap and his team to return back the complete investment. As per the inside story, the movie failed to collect the minimum amounts and Anurag Kashyap did not want Fox Star Studios to share the losses as they believed him much. More details soon.
