Airlift Enters Rs 100 Crore Club

Top actor Akshay Kumar has huge plans every year to come up with 3-4 films releasing every year. After a successful 2015, he is now back with his first movie this year titled Airlift. The movie has been directed by Raja Krishna Menon and is said to be a film that has dose of patriotism.

Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur played the lead roles in the film which has been shot exclusively in Dubai and Rajasthan. The movie has been made on a budget of Rs 40 crores and Airlift is about the biggest human evacuation that took place in the history of world in Kuwait.

Airlift has been placed in The Guinness Book of World Records for the biggest human evacuation in Kuwati during Iraq – Kuwait civil war. The movie released all over on January 22nd and the film received exceptional response across the globe.

Airlift opened to packed houses and the movie got strength throughout the weekend. With stupendous mouth talk, the film crossed Rs 100 crore mark in its first week. Airlift collected Rs 83.50 crores in India in its first week and the movie collected Rs 26.53 crores among the International circles. The movie minted Rs 110.03 crores in its first week and the film has been declared as the first blockbuster of Bollywood in 2016.

Nikhil Advani, Monisha Adwani, Aruna Bhatia, Madhu G. Bhojwani, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Vikram Malhotra produced Airlift on Abundantia Entertainments, Cape of Good Films, Emmay Entertainments, Hari Om Entertainments and T-Series.
